What is important to me

With experience in public safety, education and small businesses, I know how to help.

Finances

Will County is in the TOP ten highest taxed counties in Illinois. Illinois has the 2nd highest property taxes in the nation. Illinois has layers of taxing bodies and half of the nation’s residents who are governed by three layers of general purpose local government live in Illinois.
Isn't it about time that your HARD EARNED money be spent on you and not the state's mis-management of funds? I will always be an advocate for the residents trying to keep taxes down.

I will support every option that is available to make sure that the residents of Will County keep every penny they are entitled to and the money that is used for taxes is spent fairly and wisely.

I voted against the $18,000,000 tax increase. I voted against giving a board of hand picked people, none having business experience, to hand out $10,000,000 to anyone who applies for it. I now sit on the finance committee and we will hold departments to be accountable.

Public Safety

With crime rates increasing across the state, we must provide law enforcement officers with the resources necessary to keep our streets safe.

Having served as a police officer for more than two decades, I am acutely aware of the perils associated with underfunding police departments and overlooking the escalating violence within our communities. In my capacity as a county board member, I am committed to advocating for increased training initiatives, particularly in the realm of mental health awareness. Additionally, I will collaborate with my fellow board members to devise strategies aimed at incentivizing the recruitment and retention of police personnel. Through these efforts, we endeavor to cultivate safer neighborhoods for all residents.

Economy

Small businesses are the backbone of every local economy, and the county government should enact policies supporting future economic growth, not deter it. Illinois remains one of the most taxed states in the country, and we have the economy to show for it.

I support policies to help hard-working families and employers thrive in the county instead of wanting to flee it to more business-friendly neighboring counties. I pledge to back low tax rates and opposes burdensome regulations.

As a campaign promise, I give 25% of my county salary to charities and another 25% to servers , in my district.

I am pushing to allow video gaming in the county. I know it will result in revenue and alleviate the tax burden on the residents and help small businesses.

Where is District 7?

The county is broken up in to 11 different districts, each having TWO representatives. It is home to about 66,000 people. It encompasses south west Plainfield, west Joliet (to the cathedral district), and north west Shorewood.

I created a map to so you can see if you're in District 7.

About Me

During college, when I was obtaining my degree in marriage and family therapy, I worked for a police department. The experience ignited a passion for law enforcement, setting the trajectory for my life.

In 2004, I made a pivotal decision to prioritize my growing family. After the birth of my son, I stepped away from the world of policing to pursue a career in teaching. Armed with a Master’s Degree in Teaching, I embraced this new role, finding fulfillment in shaping young minds while maintaining a balance with my family life. Being a teacher was the perfect career for our family’s lifestyle.

Years passed, and my dedication paid off. Combining my years in law enforcement and education, I secured a pension, marking the end of another chapter and the beginning of another.

But my story doesn’t end there. With my wife, Amy, I found a way to give back to the community. Inspired by the memory of Amy’s late sister Michelle, who passed away from cancer, we established the Kindness Gala Foundation in 2014.

The foundation’s annual red-carpet event at the Bolingbrook Golf Course has become a beacon of hope, raising substantial funds for local charities that assist individuals and families facing cancer or other crises. Through our efforts, Amy and I have become pillars of support, channeling our journey from adversity to empowerment into a force for good in our community and raising thousands of dollars.

Today, Amy and I reside in Joliet with our two children, both of my kids going to Plainfield Schools.

I was elected to the board in 2022 and now sit on the Public Works & Transportation Committee, the Finance Committee, the Legislative Committee, the “old courthouse” committee, the Access Will County Committee, and I chair the Ordinance Committee.

I voted not to increase taxes and, most recently, was pivotal in ceasing the 143rd Street widening project, siding with the residents of Homer Glen, and standing up to the corrupt politics of Cook County! I have brought up numerous points of consideration to save money and hold positions accountable.
